The forecast was for rain and the crowd was expected to be about 400…The goal was to raise $20,000…needless to say we were surprised, stunned and emotionally overwhelmed by the number of generous people who came to raise money for lung cancer and honor Meaghan Latone.
She is a strong, determined young woman who is fighting the fight to survive and continues to inspire the rest of us to do whatever we can to help her fight. Whether it was through their checkbooks or their time, participants, over 800 and volunteers came out to help, walk or race and raise over $52,000. As the last walker passed me at the starting line the clouds cleared and the sun broke through. Somewhere there was a rainbow for Meaghan who asked for a rainbow ribbon to encompass all cancers.
God was with us all the way on this event and we were so blessed and are so grateful .We continue to keep her in our prayers, it can be a powerful thing. Thank you to all our corporate and business sponsors, your generosity is deeply appreciated.
